The Committee convenes to consider an original bill to provide children with increased access to food and nutrition assistance, to simplify program operations and improve program management, and to reauthorize child nutrition programs.
Senators will discuss the proposed legislation that guides the operation of many programs for child nutrition, school lunch, and Women Infant and Children (WIC) within both the Richard B. Russell National School Lunch Act and the Child Nutrition Act of 1966.
Amendments to the proposed bill may be offered, and votes are expected, in preparation of consideration by the U.S. Senate.
