WASHINGTON - U.S. Senator Debbie Stabenow (D-Mich.), Chairwoman of the Senate Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition, and Forestry, welcomed USDA’s work to advance equity under the Biden-Harris Administration. In her work on the 2018 Farm Bill and American Rescue Plan Act, Senator Stabenow has made it a priority to build out opportunity across the food system for farmers no matter who they are, where they live, or what they grow.
“USDA has a big job ahead in rebuilding trust with farmers who have historically been left out of aid, but USDA is taking important steps to increase access to loan, grant, risk management and other services for underserved producers and Black, Hispanic and Native American farmers and institutions,” said Senator Stabenow. “Make no mistake, there is still a lot of work to be done to build a food system that works for all of us.”
