WASHINGTON – Senate Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition, and Forestry Chairwoman Debbie Stabenow today released the following statement on the nutrition, agriculture, and rural provisions in President Biden’s Fiscal Year 2024 budget request.
“A budget is where we set our priorities, and this is a strong start. President Biden’s budget supports nutrition assistance for the most vulnerable Americans and builds a fair and resilient food supply chain that benefits everyone. It advances the historic investments made by Congress to confront the climate crisis by supporting climate-smart agricultural practices that sequester carbon, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and improve soil and water quality. Importantly, it continues our commitment to connect the millions of Americans who live in rural communities to high-speed, affordable, and reliable internet. I look forward working with the Administration to advance these priorities in the Farm Bill and over the year to come.”
