WASHINGTON – Senate Agriculture, Nutrition, and Forestry Committee Chairwoman Debbie Stabenow released the following statement after the USMCA dispute settlement panel issued its finding regarding Canada’s dairy tariff-rate quota (TRQ) allocation measures in favor of Canada:
“I am deeply disappointed by the decision of the USMCA panel on Canada’s dairy TRQ allocations. Canada continues to fall short on the dairy market access commitments it made in the USMCA. This decision prevents U.S. dairy farmers, and more than 3 million American jobs supported by the U.S. dairy industry, from seeing the full benefits of the Agreement. American dairy farmers deserve access to a fair and transparent marketplace, and I will continue to work with the Administration to achieve that goal.”
