WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senator Debbie Stabenow, Ranking Member of the U.S. Senate Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition and Forestry, today issued the following statement regarding EPA’s proposed 2017 Renewable Fuel Standard (RFS):
“While EPA continues to take steps in the right direction, more must be done to add certainty for America’s renewable fuels sector. The Renewable Fuel Standard is a proven driver of economic growth and homegrown American jobs. Unfortunately, today’s proposal again falls short of accomplishing the goals laid out by Congress and does not provide the certainty needed for future investments in renewable fuels and the necessary infrastructure that will drive innovation and progress towards advanced biofuels.”
