WASHINGTON - U.S. Senator Debbie Stabenow (D-Mich.), Ranking Member of the U.S. Senate Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition, & Forestry, issued the following statement in response to the revised agreement to address sugar trade concerns between the United States and Mexico:

"I am pleased that this revised agreement makes improvements to support Michigan sugar beet farmers and the 142,000 jobs this vital industry sustains across the country. I appreciate Secretary Ross and Secretary Perdue's efforts to work with our farmers to strengthen trade enforcement with Mexico.  I will continue to monitor the enforcement and implementation of this agreement to ensure that our farmers are protected from unfair trading practices."
