WASHINGTON – U.S. Senators Debbie Stabenow (D-Mich.), Chairwoman of the U.S. Senate Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition, and Forestry, and John Boozman (R-Ark.), Ranking Member, today announced the U.S. Senate confirmed Dr. Chavonda J. Jacobs-Young to serve as Under Secretary of Agriculture for Research, Education, and Economics.
“American farmers and ranchers have had a competitive advantage on the world stage in large part thanks to agricultural research,” said Chairwoman Stabenow. “Dr. Jacobs-Young is the right person to oversee USDA’s major research, education, and extension agencies. I am glad my colleagues and I could come together to confirm this outstanding nominee.”

The Committee held a hearing on the nomination of Dr. Chavonda J. Jacobs-Young on November 17, 2021.
