Stabenow Releases Statement, Fact Sheet on Anti-Hunger and Nutrition Work; Will Address White House Conference Today

WASHINGTON – Senator Debbie Stabenow (D-Mich.), Chairwoman of the U.S. Senate Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition, and Forestry will address the White House Conference on Hunger, Nutrition, and Health today as part of a panel with U.S. Secretary of Health and Human Services Xavier Becerra, House Appropriations Committee Chairwoman Rosa DeLauro (D-CT) and New York City Mayor Eric Adams. The panel will take place at 2:00 p.m. as part of the afternoon plenary. A livestream of the panel and the conference is available at YouTube.com/WhiteHouse.

“As long as we have hunger and food insecurity in America, we have work to do, and as Chairwoman, I’m confident that the strong anti-hunger and nutrition framework we’ve built can help to tackle it,” said Chairwoman Stabenow. “We’ve put policies in place that take big steps to strengthen the food safety net, incentivize purchases of healthy fruits and vegetables, and provide more resources for food banks and other organizations to address hunger and nutrition issues in their communities. Today’s conference and the White House’s National Strategy will take us even further to our shared goal of ending hunger and building a healthier country.”

In conjunction with the White House Conference, Chairwoman Stabenow released a fact sheet detailing the Committee’s work on anti-hunger and nutrition issues in recent years.
