WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senator Debbie Stabenow, Ranking Member of the U.S. Senate Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition and Forestry, today announced Senate passage of three bipartisan reauthorizations: Mandatory Price Reporting, the National Forest Foundation Act, and the U.S. Grain Standards Act. The package, which passed Committee by voice vote, was approved by unanimous consent.
“These important reauthorizations illustrate what can be accomplished when we put partisanship aside and focus on improving the wellbeing of our nation’s farmers, foresters, and ranchers,” Ranking Member Stabenow said. “Included in this package are reforms that increase transparency in the livestock markets, maintains the integrity and boosts the responsiveness of our existing federal grain inspection systems, and promotes partnerships to revitalize the 193 million-acres in our national forest system. I thank Chairman Roberts for his work on these issues and call on members of the House to pass this bill immediately.”
On Thursday, the Committee passed the three reauthorizations as part of the Agriculture Reauthorizations Act of 2015. A summary of the three bills can be found HERE.
