Chairman Roberts Announces Agriculture Committee Staff Changes, Promotions

WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senator Pat Roberts, R-Kan., Chairman of the Senate Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition, and Forestry today announced staff changes and promotions to his Committee staff.

“My Agriculture Committee staff is made up of a variety of agricultural backgrounds and expertise, and I am pleased to announce several new team members and promotions,” said Chairman Roberts. “We have a busy schedule ahead, and we are hard at work on behalf of farmers, ranchers, and others with an interest in Rural America.”

Wayne Stoskopf, Senior Professional Staff for Commodities, Crop Insurance, Dairy, and Grain Standards:
Wayne Stoskopf most recently worked as professional staff for the Committee for four years. Prior to that, he worked as a Legislative Assistant for Sen. Roberts and U.S. Rep. Lynn Jenkins, R-Kan., handling agriculture issues in each office. Wayne was raised on the family farm in Hoisington, Kan. He graduated from Kansas State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Agribusiness.

Meghan Cline, Communications Director:
Meghan Cline most recently worked as the Committee’s press secretary for four years. Prior to that, she was assistant director of communications for the National Pork Producers Council. Meghan was born and raised in Dalton, Ga., and earned Bachelor and Master of Science degrees in Agricultural Communications from the University of Georgia and Oklahoma State University, respectively.

Haley Donahue, Legislative Assistant:
Haley Donahue most recently worked as staff assistant/legislative correspondent since joining the Committee in 2017. Prior to that, she interned in Sen. Roberts’ personal office. Haley is from Vernon, Conn., and is a graduate of Emory University where she earned a bachelor's degree in economics. For over 60 years, Haley’s family has actively supported and provided farm and shipping supplies to growers on both a national and regional basis. 

Chance Hunley, Legislative Assistant:
Chance Hunley most recently worked as a staff assistant/legislative correspondent since joining the Committee in 2017. Prior to that, he worked as the events and marketing coordinator for the Kansas FFA Foundation. Chance grew up in Riverton, Kan., and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Agricultural Communications and Journalism from Kansas State University.

Christine Rock, Staff Assistant/Legislative Correspondent:
Christine Rock joined the Committee as a staff assistant/legislative correspondent in January 2019 following her graduation from Kansas State University with degrees in Food Science, Political Science, and Global Food Systems Leadership. Christine worked as an undergraduate student researcher on projects related to food safety, food microbiology, and nutrition, and was actively engaged in food security-related initiatives. Christine completed internships with the Kansas Department of Agriculture and American Bakers Association. Christine is from Olathe, Kan., and she and many of her family members remain deeply rooted in agriculture.

Lane Coberly, Staff Assistant/Legislative Correspondent:
Lane Coberly joins the Committee as a staff assistant/legislative correspondent following his graduation from Kansas State University with a bachelor’s degree in Political Science and Global Food Systems Leadership. Lane most recently worked as the Advocacy and Education intern for Kansas Farm Bureau. He also interned for the Committee in 2018 and has experience in leadership education, been involved with the National FFA Organization, and helped lead a philanthropic organization. Lane grew up in Chapman, Kan.

Senator Roberts is the first member of congress in modern committee history to serve as Chairman of both the House and now the Senate Agriculture Committees. He is serving in his third congress as Chairman of the Senate Agriculture Committee.
