WASHINGTON— U.S. Senator John Boozman (R-AR), Ranking Member of the U.S. Senate Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition, and Forestry, announced that Chelsie Keys has been promoted to policy director for the Republican side of the committee.
In this role, Keys will lead the policy development and strategy for Ranking Member Boozman’s team. She will run point on all policy within the committee’s diverse jurisdiction including agriculture, nutrition, forestry and rural development.
“Chelsie is the ideal person to oversee our policy operation. She understands the needs and concerns of the producers, stakeholders and rural communities we are entrusted to represent and has a track record of working through the legislative process to make a positive impact on their lives. I trust and value Chelsie’s expertise and look forward to continuing to work with her to improve the quality of life for our farmers, ranchers, foresters and all who call rural America home,” Boozman said.
Keys started with the committee in 2015. When Boozman assumed the role of ranking member, she remained onboard as senior professional staff member, managing a portfolio that included livestock, poultry and climate related issues.
Prior to joining the committee, Keys worked at the National Pork Producers Council where she served as director of government affairs.
Keys was raised on a grain and cow-calf farm in southern Minnesota and earned a bachelor’s degree in applied economics from the University of Minnesota.
